The Celebration of Advent

The Advent season is a time and preparation for the celebration of Christ's birth. It takes place the four weeks prior to Christmas and ends on Christmas Eve. Lutherans in Germany are credited with the tradition of the Advent wreath, which is typically made of evergreen and adorned with four candles to symbolize each week of Advent. Three purple candles signify royalty and one pink candle reflects the joy of His bith.
